Thread: problem with usb flash mem

i cannt open flash memory desktop. icon shown cant mount it. can open form media folder, dont have rights. can me? need much.

linux mount flash disks read-only if there problem filesystem. try checking flash disk errors. open terminal window , type in following:

sudo dosfsck -v /dev/xxx

replace xxx actual device name (it'll /dev/sdb1). if don't know device name, type following in terminal window:

sudo tail -f /var/log/syslog

insert flash drive , see info display in terminal window tell is.

if first dosfsck command finds errors, can repair them adding -a parameter like:

code:

sudo dosfck -a -v /dev/xxx
