Thread: Webcam not showing in skype

my webcam (logitech quickcam fusion) located @ /dev/video0 , when run vlc v4l2:///dev/video0 video on monitor.

when test in skype still black window.

looked @ man page , ran commands fix skype, got this:

anyone know why webcam might not work in skype in ubuntu 11?.

edt: vlc v4l2:///dev/video0 giving bad results suddenly.

open terminal , type in ld_preload=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype
launch skype cam working
