Admin back end-save/close/cancel buttons not working - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i have used admin 'update' component in joomla 1.7.x update joomla 2.5.7.
everything updated no errors.

afterwards, first had dreaded "please make selection list" error.
after reading forums installed plugin took care of missing "adminform" id bug.

when open article / module / template etc etc admin menu buttons "save" , "save & new", "save & close", "save copy" or "close" not work. no errors - no blank page - not action on click.

(see screenshot below)

the buttons work in "top" level of admin - not when admin content open editing.
i have done things suggested regarding database-fix + purge various caches.
installed/uninstalled new jck editor - uninstalled non-core components & plugins etc etc.
to no avail.

please - customer waiting.

have tried different browsers - chrome 22, ie9, firefox same result.

after using update component, have tried complete re-install using ftp put complete pckage instead of using update patches.
with same result.

here os php ad mysql versions

is java / javascript issue in admin end of joomla 2.5.7 - or core script issue in joomla 2.5.7?

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
