Quiz options for multiple language course in Captivate 6
a course quiz created in captivate 5.5 worked , reported score correctly lms user. upgraded 6, made few minor changes course, saved in 6 , scoring not working.
background: used recommendations december 4, 2011 blog multiple language options create multi-language course in captivate 5.5 (english/spanish) using advanced actions. , quiz worked beautifully!
i included 20 questions – 10 in english , 10 in spanish (worth 10 points each). button begin quiz depended on language user chose. example, english users’ “begin” button jump slide 23 10 questions. “on success” final question jump quiz results page – slide 44. spanish users’ “begin” button jump slide 33 10 questions. “on success” final spanish question goes quiz results page – slide 44. quiz preferences reporting set “points” total of 90 points passing. worked great!
after upgraded captivate 6, had made couple of text changes in course. did , saved course 6. scoring of quiz off. receive error message says: “scorm 1.2 cannot report total score of more 100 points. please choose report data percentage.”
with total of 200 available points, need percentage of 45 passing (90). when put in, works , quiz reporting page show 100 if questions answered correctly. however, reports lms “passed” score of “50”.
i keep ability have english , spanish quiz options in same course , show "true" grade of 10 question quiz in lms - ideas or suggestions?
by default captivate quiz slides set 10 points. in case mean total number of points in quiz captivate can see 200 (20 questions x 10 points each). avoid issue of lms thinking there more 100 points thrown @ it, change number of points each question lower amount. set them 1 point each. set passing points 10 points. using percentage trouble in instance because want user answer half questions. percentage scoring expects questions answered. using target number of points makes sense, long don't create situation more 100 points reported.
