Thread: Newbie questions

hi,

im new ubuntu , have questions hope can me with:

1. have java app runnable jar. can start using *_start.sh ive created every time logout apps shutdown. run root. have *_stop.sh cant work. me with:
a. run jar user called serviceuser (i have tried use user doesnt have access custom logs folder, app cant write one)
b. make app continue run when logout
c. stop shell works.

*_start.sh

start-stop-daemon --start --quiet -b -m -p /var/run/myservice.pid --chuid <username> --exec /usr/bin/java -- -jar myservice.jar

*_stop.sh (doesnt work)

start-stop-daemon --stop --quiet -p /var/run/myservice.pid

rm -f /var/run/myservice.pid

2. have svn setup using root user (client eclipse not connected apache). can me setting svnuser use instead?

3. have configuered apache run on https , created own cert. how export chat provide clients going connect webapp?
