Thread: Ubuntu Studio/Remix_OS dual boot

i'm running ubuntu studio 11.4 off laptop , found cool little distro called remix_os , installed on external hard drive. did live cd off 8gb flash drive, ran installer , installed remix-os onto 500gb external hard drive. works, think deleted grub off computer. thought going happen when started computer , hit f2 set boot off usb hdd load remix_os, , when set load off computer's hard drive load ubuntu studio normal.

happened installer set remix_os , ubuntu dual boot, goes remix menu , can still load ubuntu studio have have external hard drive plugged in. if unplug black screen saying "30025454hiwe or whatever hard drive called" doesn't exist , line said "recover grub". there way grub ubuntu studio without reinstalling everything? if had dual boot set want ubuntu default or priority , load off computer's hard drive, either select usb hdd if want it, if not ubuntu load , it's thing. i'm open scrapping remix_os , maybe trying different installer, want ubuntu studio load. i'm bad @ explaining things, makes sense me i'm writing if can clarify let me know. appreciated.

(what happens have crap internet connection , ubuntu set up, start messing reaper , wine , various installs , command line things , screw up, don't want mess ubuntu, got way want it. thought run remix_os off external , wouldn't effect main operating system looks jacked grub)

you installed grub on external hdd, when installing remix_os.
login ubuntu studio, unmount , unplug external hdd, reinstall grub form synaptic , reboot.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
