Acrobat won’t create bookmarks from level three headings in Word 2003 doc

i’m trying convert series of 2003 word docs, each 3 levels of headings .pdf using acrobat neither acrobat nor word 2010 (which friend tried me), produce bookmarks heading 3. 

 

headings 1 , 2 main standalone headings heading 3 has been applied number of each paragraph in document (the number has been typed in manually @ start of each para) , on same line first line of text. separated text single tab space.  above first line of text of each paragraph single line of upper case text gives name of file. normal style has been applied both paragraph text , upper case file names.

the number “2” above heading style 3.  3 levels of headings produce accurate toc document problem seems neither acrobat nor word 2007 can ‘find’ heading no 3 because set between upper case and  paragraph text. 

 

i’m wondering if ms article (q285059) have tried understand refers use of lead-in emphasis heading styles , style separators may provide solution … @ point lingo on head.

 

i have on 1000 similar docs convert pdf suggestions might or establish i’m trying not possible gratefully received.
