Can't find the Expand-function

hi! can me. i'm using 16.0.0 version of illustrator cs6 , i'm new it. under object menu, cannot find expand-function i've been told should found there. experiencing same problem? option appearing in object menu during circumstances?

if don't see @ all, may want trash illustrator settings , relaunch app.
