Data loss due to book check-in errors with FrameMaker 10, SharePoint 2010?

does have insight on may causing issue we're having when checking in fm book files sharepoint (with dependent files)?

 

when check in fm book file, of .fm files in book checked in sharepoint, not. files not checked in, lose changes made in files.

 

here's sequence:

 

1. we open fm 10 , connect sharepoint.
2. we "checkout , edit" fm book file repository manager.
3. we specify want check out dependent files.
4. from book view/pane, open chapter files need edited. chapters in book, it's 1 or 2 files.
5. we key in , save our changes.
6. we update book file , save our changes book.
7. we check in book.

 

some of chapter files checked in, remain checked out. when try check in files manually, error message file cannot found. means (i think) files no longer on our hard drive, , not on sharepoint. have lost whatever changes made them.

 

we think know problem is, don't know how fix it. is, when file gets checked in sharepoint, gets removed our local drive. have graphic files referenced in many of our .fm files. looks once 1 of these shared graphics gets checked in first time, removed our hard drive, subsequent chapters contain same graphic, fm can't find graphic , not complete check-in process.

 

we've been able replicate issue consistently.

 

any or suggestions appreciated. in advance,

using:

* framemaker 10

* sharepoint 2010

* windows 7 (64-bit)

you need dependent files persist locally.  try this:

 

- check out book, don't check out dependent files.

- book checked out, right-click again in cms connector, , select "download dependents." copies dependent files local repository (i call "adobe secret sandbox") without checking them out.

 

now, when check book in, dependent files should persist locally. @ least, seems work here.

 

of course, if want work on dependent files, you'll have check them out separately. should step in right direction.
