File permission problems - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support
hi everyone,
i uploaded new website doing locally on xampp. it's there , working well. after uploaded it, edited configuration.php file change database settings, tmp , logs paths etc. now, if try add new product, image, install component etc. 'warning failed move file' , related errors. i've tried different variations of tmp , logs paths no luck. contacted hosting company , solution change folder permissions appropriate directories 777 don't want do. think more of workaround rather fix. i've spend last few days searching ways fix on internet nothing has worked far.
none of folders writable under site - system information - directories. example, configuration.php file set 744 if @ it's permissions in cpanel isn't writable in backend of joomla site partly reason belive it's ownership problem. way can writable give user group 'world' write access. giving 'group' write access doesn't work. admin account in joomla backend i'm using super user, id 42.
if @ global configuration - permissoins - permission settings , go down super user, have 'allowed' under 'select new settings' , under 'calculated settings' have allowed there's padlock next (see attached image).
the site hosted hostingireland.ie in case has experience setup / protocols , might have had similar issues. website running joomla 2.5.7 , date. site installed addon domain.
can shed light on please ?
