How can I place image across outside of booklet?
i engaged in annual task of designing 24 page a5 booklet using folded a4 paper. internal portrait mode a5 pages (pages 2 - 23) monochrome , have been created in indesign cs6, while colour outer cover (pages 1 , 24) has been designed single landscape a4 page in adobe illustrator cs6. allows graphic images flow seamlessly between front cover , cover.
my normal practice has been print booklet myself, using inkjet printer colour content , mono laser printer else. print directly illustrator double-spread outer cover , use indesign's 'print booklet' facility internal pages.
this year, considering getting booklet produced commercial printer, use colour laser printer entire booklet. therefore want merge illustrator artwork indesign file can generate single pdf sending print shop.
i'm guessing there simple way import cover artwork indesign but, far, have been unable find way place file across pages 1 , 24. appreciated.

place , position want on page 1 (leaving full frame), copy , paste in place on page 24. crop spine on both pages.
or
disable shuffling page 1 spread, drag page 24 next in in pages panel , place art once. if this, i'd move last page in pdf after exporting.
