Reducing a SWF file size / creating "instance names" for website loading time improvement
im hoping clever can help...
what have done far:
1) created flipbook using indesign cs5.5 contains approx 25
images (embedded png's), these need quality
portfolio - i'd keep 'page curl' effect. makes swf generated cira 25mb.
2) created flash website "wrapper" hold above flipbook , add
features such "bookmarks", links other sites , forward/backward
page navigation buttions.
the issue have because flipbook swf 25mb site
load time slow.
what can done speed without compromising image
quality?
1) there way make indesign swf smaller?
2) there way in indesign give each page
"instance name" can controlled flash , therefore
i can load each pages image , when needed.
any other ideas?

you can export every page have individual swf files. create empty indesign document , place swf-files back, 1 swf / page.
select placed swf files 1 one , check play on page load in window>interactive>media panel. select poster type, suggest current frame option.
now can export main swf again. indesign not embedd actual page swfs main swf can considerably smaller file. when end user opens swf, he/she has preload small main swf, flash player loads actual contens/page swfs dynamically @ runtime.
if want have functions, check out http://www.edocker.fi/index.php/en/products/edocker2-desktop-publisher/
you can use free few days. helps finalize swf inside user interface (adds zoom, print, bookmarks dropdown menu etc)
ps. if use separate page swf method, indesign creates folder named filename_resources , stores page swfs there. make sure ever put main exported swf, put resources folder same place, in computer , in server well. if it´s not there, flash player won´t find actual pages , shows poster images end-users.
