Thread: can't use second physical drive

i installed 30 gig hard drive storage space. using ext2 file system. when looking @ in gparted, there key icon next drive.

use drive storage programs running in wine, can't see drive there. normal os, can see , mount drive, can't use anything.

going go out on limb , guess key icon means locked somehow. how unlock/use drive? there command use in terminal, or within disk utility it?

suggestions welcome.

usually lock symbol means filesystem mounted, , therefor not amenable changes.
in terminal, if 'sudo mount' should show mounted.
2nd hdd may showing sdb, isn't guaranteed.
if mounted, can use 'sudo umount' - suggest consult man pages more detail, if need it.
