Thread: Convert mdadm 6 disk raid5 to 5 disk raid5


i know can fail , remove drive raid5 array. leaves array in degraded state.

how can remove drive , convert array regular, clean array?

yes, can this. you'll need newer version of mdadm (>3.1, , kernel >2.6.31), , you'll need make sure filesystem isn't taking more space you're going shrink to. can give output of these commands?

mdadm --detail /dev/<your_array_here_probably_md0>

df -h
and this...

mount
you'll want backups of important data before trying this.
