Thread: Ubuntu 11.04 RAID 0 Installation Question

hey all. figured ask experts before attempted this.

have windows 7 x64 installation running in raid 0 work. love linux , back. wondering a possible safely install ubuntu 11.04 existing raid 0 installation, or b possible put ubuntu 11.04 onto separate hard drive , stick loop. preferably option "b" best, though have concerns. because running raid 0 on windows 7 ubuntu install screw boot manager (because striped across 2 drives), or possible run dual boot raid 0 configuration , standard drive?!?

thanks,
strych

my advice install ubuntu , boot-loader, grub, both on separate disk. don't mess windows disks. may want disconnect windows disks precaution while it. can set bios boot ubuntu disk first grub. or if ever stop using grub or ubuntu can still boot raid directly.

leaves issue of making grub boot windows raid0. sure can don't have recipe. others will.
or can add ubuntu disk w7 boot-loader , boot raid bios.
