CS5 running SLOW on playback. Hardware upgrade?

hello, operating adobe cs5 production premiere. initially, when video clip had been modified in after effects, playback feature stutter slowly, not view video in real time until rendered. now, year later, footage plays extremely , stuttery without modifications footage whatsoever. 

 

our pc:

motherboard: mb gigabyte ga-770ta-ud3

os: win home prem 7 64-bit

cpu: amd|ph ii x4 955be 3.2g am3

psu: ocz|ocz550fty 550w rt

mem: 16gb - 4: 4gb ddr3-1333 pc3 10600

case: antec|three hundred illusion r

vid: evga nvidia geforce gt240 1gb ddr5

 

the changes have made:

i went 4gb 16 gb , changed previous video gt240 512mb 1gb version.

 

do need make changes?

i have never overclocked, hear of people doing that. solution?

thank help!

upgrade cs6 

 

amd chips not ideal. need fast disk raid array media.

 

hate new computer might help.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
