Cs6 Bridge as multi-user DAM solution?
hi all,
i have opened bridge briefly single user , know whether bridge (cs6) used multi-user dam solution?
my company publishes both print , web. idea staff tag images metadata allow print / web designers search through expanding library of images. potentially volume on macos x server containing library of images available users. (mac , windows). possibly 10 simultaneous connections (users) files.
the questions :
1. can cache centralized , shared? allowing multiple users access same database of files.
2. cache multi-platform compatible? (available both mac , windows users).
3. cache support online , offline files? (ie. files on server vs. files have been archived dvd).
4. can multiple users update cache? or need 'opened' 1 user write access & other users having read access.
5. can cache backed along file server backup , reconciled should become 'corrupt' or out of sync content.
6. there maximum number of either files? or data (mb/gb/tb) bridge catalog can support?
finally. (and patience).
7. if bridge not right solution kind of task, have recommendations dam solution? there 2 i'm aware of , don't have experience or opinions of either of them. extensis portfolio , canto cumulus.
thanks input.

matt,
bridge not robust single-user dam solution, let alone multi-user one.
bridge image , file browser, nothing more , nothing less. has evolved modestly since humble beginnings photoshop's file browser.
its weaknesses have been discussed here @ length. forum search on digital asset management or manager , you'll find plenty of exiting threads. without exception, every single user approaches bridge in fashion becomes disappointed very, quickly.
the existing threads have suggestions true, alternative dams cumulus canto , others.
