Suggestions for Mac Pro upgrade

i've got older mac pro (1,1 ) 9gb of memory. i'm using lr 4 large catalog (over 419,000 images. things slow, , use hardware upgrade recommendations (i have followed suggestions on how speed things preference settings, store catalog, etc) speed lr performance.

 

1. iirc the mp line hasn't been upgraded in long time. i'd prefer not buy new machine, it's not totally out of question.
2. ssd. far i'm not using them @ all, i'm using internal hard drives , fw800 external drives in dock. i've heard improve lr performance significantly. there's no way replace multiple 3tb sata drives ssds, i'm thinking using ssd current, working photos, , when assignment turned in, transfer them sata drives. i'm looking internal ssd options otherworldcomputing.
3. cpu upgrade.  don't know this, found threads it. don't know how lr.
4. buy new macbook pro. don't have laptop, , new mbp have better specs (in @ least ways) mp. use laptop anyway. don't know if new mbp work 24" nec display though, , of course wouldn't have 4 internal hard drive bays. if works nec display , faster mp, consider it.

 

 

if has thoughts on above, or other suggestions, i'd appreciate hearing them.

i own macpro 1,1 9gb of memory, 128 gb ssd , 2x1tb internal drives.  when purchased nikon d800 started looking faster computer.

 

1.  not purchase macpro right now.  had latest macpro, 6-core, 3.33 ghz model 16 gb of ram 3 days.  combination gave me factor of 2 improvement returned apple , memory vendor.  wait next release if can.

 

2.  ssd bit, it's no substitute faster cpus.

 

3.  after considering option decided against it:  many things go wrong , gains wouldn't much.

 

4.  owned macbook air (mba) used while traveling.  since needed upgrade purchased 15 inch macbook pro ("retina") , sold mba.  laptop factor of 2 faster macpro.  if choose can drive apple cinema display macbook pro (i've done that) , access it's disks.  eventually, i'll replace macpro , give present 1 local organization.

 

the bad news macbook pro there not yet many applications make use of 2880 x 1800 display:  lightroom, instance.  despite display nice.  apple store may have appropriate adapter allow drive nec display.
