Thread: Alien Arena 2006 Gold Edition for Linux won't work... can't find libgtk-1.2.so.0

back in 2007 got cover cd off linux mag, included game called alien arena 2006 gold edition linux. nice game (1st person shoot-'em-up quake , doom) , i'd play again. unfortunately lost cd.

alien arena in synaptic. when install it, can't work. mouse pointer not work in game menu window, arrow keys don't work... music, that's it. figure maybe won't work because new, improved alien arena won't play nice computer (intel pentium 4 cpu 1.70 ghz, same computer used in 2007, added ram - 1gb instead of 256mb) ooked 2006 gold edition knew , loved before.

little googling turned original game - alienarena-2006ge-x86.run. when try run it, little window saying:

alien arena 2006: gold edition linux

verifying archive integrity... good
uncompressing alien arena 2600: gold edition linux.............................

/home/t0p/.setup20181: error while loading shared libraries: libgtk-1.2.so.0; cannot open shared object file: no such file or direcctory
press return close window#
i've tried find libgtk-1.2.so.0, far unsuccessfully - plus, if find don't know i'm meant it.

want nice 1st person shoot-'em-up work nicely on computer. it's worked before... not more. can help?

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
