Thread: Boot natty on MBP 3,1

i couldn't find info problem anywhere, hope can point me in right direction.

situation:
have macbook pro 3,1 (mid 2007) osx/ubuntu 10.04 64bit (under bios emulation). want format ubuntu partitions , install natty 64bit. so, following instructions, insert cd in drive , reboot; refit presents me 3 cd options (grub efi 64, linux cd, legacy os cd). first, expected, boots grub, boots ubuntu nvidia graphic card doesn't work (assume boots since can hear work , when press power button shut down clean ejecting cd). went second , third options (that behave same).

problem:
when try boot "linux cd" or "legacy os cd" presents me black screen asking mode want use (1 or 2). assume choosing bios/efi mode on non-refit hardware. anyway problem keyboard doesn't seem work (pressing key doesn't have effect), don't know if system freezes or if it's keyboard (i have italian layout, numbers have same position one). don't have external keyboard, tried usb numpad without success.

hope has ideas it,
answer

workaround:
managed boot&install. downloaded official iso, deleted efi folder, burned , booted without other problems. it's not real solution, works.
