Thread: How to match window to customized firefox profile icon in Docky?

i running ubuntu 10.04 desktop amd-64 on hp dv4-2000 laptop.

have docky running on left side, desktop disabled , wallpapers 4 desktops. killed bottom panel (yes, it's poor-man's 11.04).

details, don't think, have bearing on problem @ hand, 1 never knows.

so, have 3 different firefox profiles run-- default, has plugins, stripped-down 1 use daily reading (i follow number of sites using morning coffee plugin), , stripped 1 local wordpress install.

problem this-- have created 3 separate launchers on desktop, 1 each firefox profile. each have own icons, , have imported them each docky.

way, if have problems getting different icon show in docky, open launcher text editor such gedit , make sure both icon listings pointing 1 want use. example:

code:
[desktop entry] version=1.0 type=application terminal=false icon[en_us]=/home/dngrs/pictures/wordpress-icon-32.png name[en_us]=dngrlog exec=firefox -no-remote -p wordpress name=daily icon=/home/dngrs/pictures/wordpress-icon-32.png
the first icon listing docky uses, second launcher file looks like.

anyway, problem-- when click on appropriate icon, instance of firefox under correct profile. however, docky throws window under generic firefox icon, if pull dock, there might 3 instances of firefox running under firefox icon , nothing under icons of other 2 profile launchers.

want able click on wordpress profile icon , wordpress window open (instead of getting warning firefox running... know that).

found this page tells me how fix chrome problem of similar nature, however, when try use command xprop nothing. left running fifteen minutes until gave , did ^c recover terminal.

so, problem, see it, this-- i'm running firefox in 3 cases, docky correctly interprets. isn't java implementation can point @ correct java attribute.

so, there way can tell docky how differentiate between different profiles?

okay, figured out doing wrong xprop-- once initiate xprop in terminal, need select window in question mouse,

helped me attach minecraft launcher actual program (so didn't have 2 icons on dock when running minecraft).

unfortunately, firefox firefox, regardless of profile using.
