Thread: Multiple servers hostnames

i have 2 servers on home network , 1 server on different network. running ubuntu server.
connect servers using putty.
can connect first server typing "servername1" not second server. have type ip address of second server in order connect.
use dns service (dyndns) in order connect third server.
how make second server respond hostname ("servername2") don't have type ip address (192.168.1.xxx) every time?
there way make server that's on different network entirely respond hostname (or name) without going through external dns service?

thanks.

assuming using windows os, make entry in hosts file hostname you'd like. or, better solution setup hostname record on home network's router.
