Thread: No sound on my Asus notebook

hi everyone, i've resolved lot of problems searching through these forums have 1 can't figure out. did dual boot install on new asus n53jf notebook windows 7 , maverick (10.10). worked on fresh maverick install , messed up. have maverick installed on dell d600 , migrated home folder on new machine. recognized of settings , preferences sound quit. don't sound running apps or other basic notification type sounds. i'm guessing there's command somewhere pointing wrong place don't know start. checked of basic sound preferences , they're set should be. happened after home migration figure must command or wrong driver.
i'm starting figure out way around command line i'm still pretty green. i've attached screenshot of info of sound card starting point, go here? appreciated.

my first instinct if have ~/.asoundrc file might want try renaming else. it's sound-based configuration file in home folder.
