I-beam on headings in printed document

this drove me crazy yesterday, thought i'd post findings in case of have had similar problems.

in printed doc, noticed of headings had i-beam @ beginning. searched forum , web i-beam , robohelp , found nothing, wondered if word doing, not robohelp.

i'm sure have figured out quicker if had more experience of word's features, despite fact started using word in 1987 (yes, around then), i've used framemaker complex documents.

those i-beams word's way of indicating bookmark. somehow setting show bookmarks in word got turned on.

this web page tells how turn bookmarks viewing on , off in word 2007 , 2010:

http://wordribbon.tips.net/t009190_seeing_where_bookmarks_are.html

(if page disappears, search show bookmarks word.)

so other user!

preferred multimate though.
