Make the layers UI consistent with other CS apps

this isn't illustrator problem.  problem among many cs apps, no 2 of them having same way same thing layers.

 

but i'll give specific examples:

  • in photoshop , indesign, user can right-click , select "duplicate layer".  in illustrator, right-clicking nothing @ all.
  • double-clicking on text label in illustrator layer gives option rename layer.  in photoshop, too.  doing in indesign brings layer options.
  • double-clicking on layer, not on text label, in illustrator brings layer options.  in indesign, too.  doing in photoshop brings layer style.
  • for examples above bring layer options or layer style, ui's different in each of them.

 

i don't care way adobe chooses.  please, pick 1 way cs apps work.  cs user should able learn 1 cs app, learn "i can duplicate layer right-clicking , selecting "duplicate layer", , able in every cs app.  make real suite, , not merely collection of different applications can bought @ once.

agreed. it's such time waste having deal illogical inconsistencies.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
