Thread: XDMCP on 11.04

new forum, didn't see posted already, sorry if missed (or search missed it).

i'm on private network , have xdmcp turned on different users can access system greeter , log in own desktop.

i've edited /etc/gdm/custom.conf include
[xdmcp]
enable=true

, i've restarted entire system.

test if works, i've tried 'xnest :1 -query localhost' - on other _nix systems bring greeter, know have deal firewall issues, etc. on ubuntu 11.04 blank screen.

i've seen others asking xdmcp, , answers use vnc, experience allows _share_ current desktop, not create new 1 different user use @ same time. if mistaken please let me know.

so, ideas on how xdmcp , running on ubuntu 11.04?

struggling set xdmcp on 11.04 xbuntu xfce. tutorials advise setting remotegreeter=/usr/lib/gdm/gdmlogin, not have gdmlogin in /usr/lib directory.

on how setup , debug on local machine gratefully received.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
