DVD labeling

i refering book steve grisetti----the muvipix.com guide adobe premier elements 10.reference page 211.never stick label onto dvd.

i have been labeling dvd's felt tipped permanent markers labeled cd/dvd.

is ok?

that should fine, inkjet printing onto "printable" dvd/bd.

the reason admonition against using adhesive labels multi-fold:

  1. with self-adhesive labels, reports have surfaced of vehicle in adhesive leaching vinyl of disc, , altering reflectivity (layer below actual outer vinyl layer). folk urban myth, enough have reported of loss of reflectivity, not want loose dvd, because of this.
  2. adhesive labels can affect balance of dvd, spins faster, cd will.
  3. adhesive labels can become detached, gumming player.

there might more potential problems, enough me.

good luck,

hunt

ps - have used verbatim , taiyo-yuden printable blank discs (several versions of t-y flat white glossy white water-proof), , use epson dvd inkjet printer, , have had no problems. through 2,000 client discs, , perhaps 300 personal ones.
