Import Not Finding All Files in Folder Tree (which files were missed?)

i'm new lr4.1 user running on 15" macbook pro (os x 10.7.4).

 

i exported aperture library masters: nef files nikon d100, d200, d300, d800 cameras, , jpg, tif, , psd files, etc.

 

aperture reported export count: 

51285 of 50582 (don't ask me why exported more thought had!).

 

after export, used "find" (case-insensitive) in output directory tree count nef, tif[f], psd, png, jpg, gif, avi, , mov files spit out aperture: found 51277 such files (pretty close aperture export count, although not same).

 

however when point lightroom folder tree exported aperture masters, import operation reports 44279 photos import (at lower left of expanded import dialog). 7,000 less aperture exported! have "include subfolders" checked , "don't import suspected duplicates" unchecked in lr import dialog. also, using "add" option in import dialog.

 

how can figure out files lightroom missing? (i haven't imported yet due discrepancy.)

 

i can't see how discrepancy large. think lr should support of aperture-supported files.

i see lr doesn't support 32 bit files, don't see how have 7k files (maybe some, don't think 7k!) (i check later, installing xcode , imagemagick check count of 32 bit deep files).

 

if can offer ideas on how can find missed files, appreciated.

 

(maybe if proceed import , there way export text file listing of library files, process file vs. actual files in directory tree deduce problem issues.)

one problem far know, lightroom not import png files, can account portion of discrepancy.

 

lr4 indeed support 32bit files
