New features in Adobe Muse 2.0

the following list of features available in adobe muse:

 

align palette

• we've added new align palette, available window menu, or clicking on new 'align' control in control strip.
• you can use new align features align or distribute selected objects relative each other, or page content area (which area bottom of header top of footer).     

 

asset upload

• you can link external file (i.e. pdf, .zip file, .dmg or .exe) , add hyperlink enable users download file web site.
• all linked assets uploaded / exported along rest of adobe muse site, in new 'assets' folder.     

 

code generation improvements

• we've improved html code generation adobe muse 2.0 in several areas. shadows, glows, , gradients use css instead of generating additional images.
• we've eliminated many cases generated duplicated html nodes. we've changed our javascript framework our widgets spry smaller, faster framework called webpro.
• these changes make export process faster, , adobe muse generates less images , smaller html files.
• shadows , outer glows represented using css box-shadows instead of rasterizing.
• fixed naming of images exported adobe muse have been either resampled or cropped before exporting.
• background images have been set "scale fit" or "scale fill" exported 'contain' or 'cover' background-size css property, respectively.
• browsers display warning when serve page mixes http , https content, can triggered if loading content content delivery network (cdn) such amazon's cloudfront. avoid these warnings, adobe muse uses javascript not use cdn urls https in favor of falling local version of content.     

 

forms

• we've added new form widget widget library.
• you can configure form send form submissions multiple email addresses, , optionally redirect users page after submitting form.
• you can add , remove fields, , style form other adobe muse elements. can independently style various states of form, , form fields provide compelling user experience, visual cues error states, empty states, , more.
• because form processing requires server-side support, adobe muse forms configured work when published adobe business catalyst. if make changes form , publish again, adobe muse make appropriate changes adobe business catalyst forms.
• adobe muse safeguard data when redesigning adobe business catalyst forms                
  • if field no data submitted removed, deleted database.
  • if field has submitted data removed, preserved in database, can deleted adobe business catalyst admin console if desired.         

font improvements 

• the font ui includes font previews in form of sample text rendered in corresponding font/weight/style.
• submenus various font types (web, web-safe , system) have been eliminated in favor of single sectioned list, shortcuts scroll each section.
• web fonts , system fonts grouped font family; individual weights , styles (e.g. bold, italic, bold italic etc.) of multi-face font families appear in sub-menus.
• the font ui displays automatically generated list of used fonts. number of used fonts display can configured , list can cleared.
• the font list can filtered font family (e.g. “myriad pro”), weight or style (e.g. “bold italic”), combination of these (e.g., “myriad pro bold italic”), including partial names in order (e.g., “it bold myr pro”).
• adobe muse uses platform-independent references fonts, adobe muse documents can exchanged between mac , windows without failure resolve font references.
• adobe muse displays localized font names (if available) based on application locale, rather system locale. adobe muse documents can exchanged between across application locales without failure resolve font references.

 

ftp upload

• adobe muse includes ability ftp host of choice selecting file > upload ftp host in adobe muse menu.
• adobe muse's ftp upload dialog allows specify host, subdirectory, , login information.

 

adobe edge integration

• if publish .oam file adobe edge, can place adobe muse. required images, css , javascript content uploaded @ publish or export time.
• as other placed content changes made in source adobe edge file , re-saved in .oam format detected within adobe muse, , can use assets palette update content in adobe muse.     

 

language support

• japanese , italian localizations have been added.
• specific japanese features include addition of japanese web safe fonts on font menu support japanese ime, including text input , double-byte text.       

 

ruler guides

• adobe muse includes ability drag guides onto page horizontal or vertical ruler.
• page items snap guides when moving, guides not exported.
• adobe muse supports selecting multiple guides on page.       

 

sitemap.xml

• adobe muse creates sitemap.xml file better search engine optimization when site hosted somewhere other adobe business catalyst. can exclude page sitemap.xml file (if don't want search engines find it) setting option in page properties dialog.

 

browser fill improvements

• you can set gradient on browser fill. (note: opacity, focal point , size not available due cross-browser compatibility , usability standards)
• in addition, can set browser background image fit or fill.

 

control strip improvements

• the adobe muse control strip has collapsible control sets (similar illustrator). expand width of adobe muse application window more controls appear.
• additional controls have been added control strip – states, transform, , align. text controls available when text frames selected, not when you're using text tool.

 

drag , drop styles/swatches/colors

• you can drag , drop paragraph style or character style onto text frame apply style text.
• you can drag graphic style page item, or page apply it.
• you can drag swatch onto page item, page, or browser area of page apply background fill.
• you can drag color (via dragging color preview area above rgb edit boxes) onto page item, page, or browser area of page apply background fill. can drag color swatches palette create swatch of it.     

 

hyperlinks

• the hyperlink control can resized users can see entire url. we've changed label of hyperlink option “title” “tooltip” clarify user enters hyperlink destination information.

new selection visuals

• hint labels show when hover on elements on page. there new preference turn display off.
• groups , widgets indicated dotted line containment rectangles.
• when page item cannot resized in specific direction show “x” instead of missing handle.

 

widget improvements

• slideshow , composition widgets include numeric stepper controlling auto play speed in seconds rather off, slow, medium, fast.
• we've added shuffle option slideshow , composition widgets slideshow or composition contents play in random order.
• changing menu widget horizontal vertical, or vice versa, better job of preserving size , spacing.
• changing state of 1 part of widget @ design time changes appropriate sibling parts same state more closely mimic browser behavior.
• based upon customer feedback, renamed following:                
  • "fit width" , "fit height" "uniform spacing"
  • "uniform width" , "uniform height" "uniform size"

other assorted improvements

• shift + return/enter create soft return instead of carriage return.
• control/ctrl + tab activates next tab.
• control/ctrl + shift + tab activates previous tab.
• option/alt + click page tab close open page tabs.
• option/alt + click site tab close open sites.
• holding shift key down while resizing image allows perform non-proportional resize.
• the x, y, w, h, , angle edit boxes support duplicating , transforming selection if hold down option/alt key when hit return/enter or tab.
• if enter value in edit box can shift + enter apply value , keep focus in edit box.
• select same feature added selects other objects on page same type object selected , can used through alt control shift , context , edit menus.
• added feedback rotation tracker see angle next cursor rotate.
• changed rotation display values between -180 , 180 match other adobe apps. 0 360.
• publish dialog has new faq link users understand implications of publishing.
• upload ftp , export html workflows have ‘domain name’ input field. used generation of sitemap.xml , enabling typekit web fonts.
• the display of 100% width items on ios devices enabled.
• adobe muse produces functional submenus on ios devices.
