Problems making coupon box in Indesign CS4

i'm new indesign, in fact i'm using cs4 @ public library until can afford own copy.

 

while creating ad, made coupon box.  color of dashes changed colors

as went around box.  on right black on left hand side of box,

it had turned white.

 

any idea may have been doing wrong. had ad out managed fix

the problem way i'd know how head off problem in future.

do have gradient applied stroke?
