Thread: Acer Aspire 7551-7422 No Wifi connectivity.

i did fresh install of ubuntu 11 on brand new (a few hours old) acer aspire 7551-7422.

when going install (on boot screen) says connected power source, not connected internet source.

after installing completely, cannot connect wifi @ all, cannot fix problem. , not know problem due lack of knowledge in linux/ubuntu.


i've used xubuntu once on 6 year old desktop, had issues sound, , i'm not sure if same issues i'm having now, had issues wifi.

think might need install drivers, don't know how without internet errors. terminal keeps spitting out errors pages.

whomever can me fix this.

what problem? there 1 besides wifi connectivity? message "it connected power source.." implies laptop is connected ac power source (and not on battery)..

as per link provided, laptop came win7 pre-installed, not cut off internet - please confirm.

if have access router/modem getting wifi connectivity, should have few empty ethernet ports may allow laptop connect through straight network cable. may work temporary arrangement let setup connect internet , update itself.

connecting internet often, although not always, first , important step towards troubleshooting other problems, if any.
