Thread: Intel 82845G won't even allow VESA to run


i have 7-year-old dell inspiron 1100 laptop i'm trying install lubuntu 11.04 onto. works fine except video driver. cannot load intel graphics driver nor vesa driver. display resolution stuck @ 640x480 in top left corner of 1024x768 screen , there streaks of garbage on bottom.
here relevant info lscpi:
