Thread: Ubuntu 11.04 Server - ATI fglrx Install Issues

here's current situation:

i've installed ubuntu 11.04 64-bit server version , i'm trying install fglrx driver ati 5850 working. (reasoning: i'm creating boinc cruncher , i'd ati card available boinc use)

tried:
code:
sudo apt-get install fglrx
but gave me error:
errors encountered while processing:
fglrx
fglrx-amdcccle

i've found multiple articles/blogs discussing how manually install driver, decided try that. ran following:

sudo apt-get purge fglrx  sudo apt-get install -f  wget <location 11.4 ati drivers>  sudo apt-get install libqtgui4  sudo sh ati-driver-installer-11-4-x86.x86_64.run --buildpkg ubuntu/natty  sudo dpkg -i *.deb
and i'm continuing same "errors found while processing.." messages.

point out i'm doing wrong? trying follow this: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/binarydriverhowto/ati
manual install of fglrx.

i think put in wrong area. if don't replies today, i'll move on hardware/laptops area.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
