Thread: Ubuntu installation with virtual drive

i had reinstall ubuntu due wireless connectivity issues. ran problem while doing so.

had downloaded 32bit version of ubuntu. had burnt cd .iso file , installed ubuntu inside windows 7. cakewalk. taken through multiple windows during installation installation size, keyboard setting, time zone, user name, password, etc.

now, during reinstallation did not have cd me. tried multiple other methods, none yielded results cd. listing methods tried below:
1) opened .iso file using winrar , double clicked on wubi.exe file. installation started midway during installation started downloading entire .iso file again.
2) created bootable usb flash drive using universal usb installer advised ubuntu website. opened usb using windows , clicked wubi.exe file. again faced same problem above.
3) time booted flash drive. process shut down midway citing error.
4) created virtual drive using slysoft virtual clone drive , mounted .iso file in drive. installed smoothly time, ran new problems.
- installed ubuntu has copied username , password windows. never asked create new user name , password. (it seems ubuntu had copied documents , settings windows)
- during installation did not give option automatic upgrade (it did last time). cretated problem of drivers.
- there new partitions in file system. (i have 250gb hard disk. 50gb c drive , 200gb d drive other storage. during initial installation cd, maintained , ubuntu installed within c drive. time although had clicked 'c-drive' during installation, seems new partition has been created within c drive have 3 file systems in ubuntu 150, 50, 50. (i had used ubuntu installation size of 15 gb)
- during ubuntu boot used have 3 options, 'generic', generic recovery mode , 1 windows 7. (sorry if wrong! not computer wizard , not remembering them well) have 2 options in addition above, both had 'dev' in it. when clicked on them, ubuntu did not boot up. had force shut down , restart again.

why happening. doing wrong!

want have ubuntu sit within c drive alongside windows (without creating new partitions), have ask me username , password during installation. how can it?

maybe help
