Thread: Wireless worked on live discs, but not on install.

hi. have installed ubuntu 11.04 on toshiba satellite laptop used have vista installed on it. i've been trying out various linux live discs (eventually choosing ubuntu) on year now, , whenever i've been on live disc, laptop has been able connect wirelessly internet , browse web. have netgear router , have been given option in upper right connect netgear. tonight, when installed ubuntu, chose wipe hard drive (i backed stuff already), , asked me if had internet connection. tried connect netgear wouldn't work. made me little suspicious, chugged along installation anyway. it's installed, when go see list of wireless connections, doesn't give me options; greyed out. do now? wiped entire hard drive , can't use internet.

well embarrassing, booted laptop today , told me had wireless networks available. common new install not able connect internet while or router issue?

edit: apparently internet went out lot of people in area @ same time tried installing ubuntu. talk bad coincidence! sorry bout that.
