upgrade from 1.5 to 2.5 - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi,

i trying upgrade 2.5 first pushed updated files directory not making database changes suggests on joomla site , looked install jupdate component via /administrator error ...

error! not find joomla! xml setup file in package.

please

i have looked @ tmp directory , zip there , folder called install_509a0e*****

so have gone install place , added

/home/***/public_html/joomla212/tmp/install_509a0*****/
as install directory

then error..

error! not find joomla! xml setup file in package.
path not have valid package.

this download jupdate though , have xml file within it
