can't import PSD from Photoshop

this weird. trying import psd file. error message ppro cs6 "we unable open file on disk."

 

the file still image came me jpg. read photoshop cs6, cropped it, made canvas 1920 x 1080 (to match size of ppro sequence), did retouching, , ended running broadcast safe luminance action on it. saved ppro project folder *.psd file. i've done hundreds of times dozens of ppro projects.

 

went ppro cs6. found file using media browswer. file...import media browswer gives me pop-up preview in source monitor failure window "we unable open file on disk." error message.

 

what makes more frustrating ppro can find , open file worked on prior one. same conditions, same workflow, same directory, same protections on files (i did check that). 2 files same except file name, , file contents. else identical can make it. , none of disk drives half full, shouldn't space issue.

 

so if ppro can read one, why can't read other? , can ppro behave , read file? files don't seem corrupted -- photoshop can read both of them fine. in case, i've recreated problem file *.jpg source several times think can rule file corruption coming photoshop out. maybe.

 

i've wracked brain 90 minutes trying figure out changed between first file works, , second 1 doesn't. i've come empty. worked on one, other, imported first on ppro (which worked), imported second 1 ppro (which failed). exact same source (both files *.jpg attachements on same email), same workflow, saved same directory. arghhhh!!!

 

i've done of "usual suspects". i've exited out of both photoshop , ppro , restarted. i've saved problem file in other fomats (same error no matter format). turned teh google, didn't turn pertained. couldn't find in adobe docs. so, here tell me what's going on?

few things check - color mode of psd rgb. cannot cmyk, or few others.

 

i have had issues smart objects, in sometimes, import fine, not always.

 

tiny layers (just couple of pixels x pixels) have cause problems.

 

adjustment layers have been known cause problems.

 

normal layers, long not tiny, work me.

 

nothing else comes mind, luck,
