Custom Group can login to backend - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support
hi.
i have created group "community admin" , made them sub group of "administrator".
i went global config , permissions , have explicitly denied access "admin login", "super admin", & "access administration interface" however, user can still login backend.
i'd them have full admin priveleges in front end no access @ al backend.
any suggestions...?

set new user group 'registered' parent.
site login should 'inherited'(which should default allowed)
all rest should 'inherited'(which should default not allowed)
[*]in content >>> article manager >>> options ... permisions tab ... set access administration interface 'allowed' new user group. rest should 'inherited'(which should default deny)
the user group not able add, edit or delete articles or categories.
[*]then either in each category or each article permissions 'allow' new user group.
(note: 'edit state' permissions allow or deny publishing)
this structure comes play. if have structured categories , articles correctly ... need set permissions in categories apply. other wise need individual articles.
doing way prevent members of new user group accessing admin able access permitted categories edit
if want them have access edit categories in global config set edit options 'allowed'
