Migrating a few sites over to single VPS - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi,

i have few higher load sites migrating single vps. hoping away 512-1gb of ram, 2x2.4ghz cores, , 40gb of disk space. overall running 4 joomla installs @ moment.

i've thought using mod_fgid, there's no real tutorials. modifying mysql, apache, , php reduce memory consumes. don't expect big traffic surges or spikes, more steady use monitor accordingly.

usually deal single bigger sites require higher end box, or 1+ lower end box scatter resources (like db+mailserver, or use load balancing, memcache, etc.).

i use open source control panel of course sucks it's memory , cpu usage among services runs. guess configuring more of shared hosting environment , want configure accordingly....with not many pitfalls shared hosting lol.

any thoughts or recommendations? walk through of enabling , configuring mod_fcgid? experience it? worth based on circumstances?

thanks.

your find not provide 2x2.4ghz on 1gb package give % per each 256mb take. image @ 1gb that's around 5%. said important factor ram , not cpu. 1gb pretty low amount 4 site vps, if openvz might ok since swap. xen, , cloud vps have 0 tolerance on using of swap since slows down server dramaticly , ask increase ram. if tight on ram, , spending little more should avoid install control panel. it's worth getting grips setting vhosts within apache2.conf should go apache or if want save lots of ram go nginx, control panels add lot of memory usage when got 4 sites across 1gb.
