Thread: DOS and Ubuntu
ok... did not check see if specific problem has been addressed. have attached cropped screen shot root terminal. thing burned image of dos 6.22 cd designed install operating system. erased partitions (after backing everything) , proceeded install thing cd. mounted correctly boot, did not recognize cd running off of. proceeded fdisk primary partition dos. formatted partition /s switch , able access c: there. installed ubuntu 10.10 in next 3 partition in usual way. after going though that. mounted dos partition while in ubuntu , copied boot disk dos first partition. but, when went boot, no menu presented allow me choose boot on dos partition, went ubuntu instead. did wrong? how can fix it? more information... have configured c: drive way ready boot correctly if , when does. able access drive dos if use cd , transferring comspec c: drive. not able access cd drive while in state. in place, won't boot dos 6.22. familiar dosbox , use time. have full use of dos in native state. appreciated.

i suggest make win 98 floppy (image usb flash if have no floppy) boot , use fdisk set , make partition bootable think command when @ usb/floppy prompt "sys:a".....but don't know "image" file working with, suspicions don't have system files on partition yet able boot.it's been awhile, memory not snuff.
edit: might try bootable usb sys files copied rather 98 image, have no tools. here's site things bootable early-present.look around site there more 1 page.
