Thread: Firefox 5 in Lucid?

hi all,

i'm running ff5 in natty, sort of thinking going lucid or maverick various reasons. however, want latest version of firefox confirm me if following works please?

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mozillateam/firefox-stable
sudo apt-get update

ff5 should appear in synaptic?

want create minimal install (as minimal possible), firefox browser. i'm thinking of possibly giving debian installation spin (similar mintppc, using compiz standalone session instead of openbox) info regarding ff5 , debian appreciated well. think ppa work debian stable?

cheers!

well, first point 1 should make debian has iceweasel, not firefox. far know there no repository debian offers ff, have download ff's website , manually install it.

second point debian hasn't got ppa system. new software released sid first, , testing branch. can run 1 branch of os , install packages repositories of other branches using apt pinning. google search show how it, it's not difficult.

ubuntu lucid , firefox5, if go https://launchpad.net/~mozillateam/+...firefox-stable page of mozilla team, can see have repositories lucid, , say:
code:
firefox stable releases. aimed @ lucid , maverick users want use modern browser starts faster can brew morning coffee
so should (99.9%) work.
