Thread: Has anyone actually installed MediaWiki onto Ubuntu Server


because trying desperately this. thought simple, far proving not be.

when have asked on forum several different answers.

have learnt linux command helped alot still feel like learning quantum mechanics can drive car. im looking "need know" basis. nice know how things organised etc @ end of day dont care, when has not achieved goal.

see if can unthinkable , tell me have do. setup:

have macbook pro.
on have vmware fusion.
virtual machine have installed ubuntu server

have lamp installed. did when installing ubuntu server. clicked option lamp.

theres no gui command line (so please dont need click on icon)

have mediawiki file on usb stick. been extracted on same usb stick.

want install mediawiki onto ubuntu. thats it. thats wanting do. didnt think ask.

there is. am.

lets see if can tell me on earth have do. unable find usb stick through moun or /mnt. aint happening.

i have tried everything, , can not it.

yes, have done it, while ago, , can't remember did work, possibly permissions and/or creating required database through webmin.
