Thread: too many power managers

following discussion on asus forum on overheating, (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1768551&page=4), find netbook running 3 power managers simultaneously: gnome, xfce , jupiter. how disable (not uninstall) these 1 one, can identify efficient manager elimination?

story: observation posted in asus forum lucid runs several degrees hotter xp on 1005ha machine, dual boot.

thanks

pratik

eeepc 1005ha, lucid 10.04, xfce4 desktop

you can either find system makes them start @ boot time, , have no idea in xfce (xubuntu?), or if not simple remove execute permission ones don't want run temporarily using command
code:
sudo chmod -x /usr/bin/gnome-power-manager
etc etc.

however, there must list of startup applications somewhere more found, i'm sure.

there similar problem in lubuntu (lxde) deafult runs gnome-power-manager. can not work suspend netbook added xfce4-power-manager well, work properly, means have remove gnome version startup applications , add xfce4 version. it's not difficult, in lxde involves manually editing text config file /etc/xdg/lxsession/lubuntu/autostart. perhaps there similar file in xfce.
