Work on a site in another directory first???? - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

this such noob question, although have done 20 joomla sites before, lol.

can keep client's current joomla site up, , work on whole new 1 in different directory on server... when 1 done, can move on main directory replace old site???

if so, affect database??? because need keep of current joomla articles , plugins in place.

does know of tutorial on how right??? thanks!

yes can create site in sub-directory without effecting existing site. make sure create new database new site use before hand. once site built delete files in root (your old existing site) transfer of files new site folder root folder , change configuration.php file reflect directory changes (usually log_path , tmp_path)

or can build site on local pc using xampp when ready, transfer host using akeeba backup. there many tutorials on building joomla site using xampp available.

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
