Acrobat reader 10.1.4 hangs for 60 seconds on startup if McAfee On-Access Scanner Enabled

buffer overflow , access protection dat version 588, dat created on 30 aug 2012)

 

hi,

 

i've never had issue adobe reader. running older version, not old (i think version of reader x, i'm pretty sure).

around time issue occurred, firefox decided upgrade 15.0, , virus scanner updated around same time, 1 of these triggered issue.

 

after that, adobe reader hang on startup long time before becoming responsive again.

i decided uninstall adobe reader, delete c:\users\xxx\application data\adove\acrobat folder completely, , delete hkcu\software\adobe\adobe acrobat key (i've never had

acrobat, adobe reader). then, installed 10.1.4 scratch.

however, still have same problem.

 

i've timed it, , 60 seconds upon trying open pdf file, cpu approaches 100%. after 60 seconds, application responsive approximately 1 second, , hangs again (his time low cpu windows 7 spinning circle approximately 15-20 seconds.

 

i've noticed if disable mcafee on-access scan, adobe reader works fine!

 

i don't know how view adobe reader log files if exist.

 

anyone know issue be?

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
