Premier Elements project will not close down

i editing new project in premier elements 9 (standard definition). have downloaded clips , trasferring ones want use onto time line. have been saving work periodically, , auto--save came on @ 1 point, when went close project, after doing final save, prompted save project again options click yes, no or cancel, when clicked "yes" project refused close down. several further attempts failed went in task manager , got instruction saying programme not close because waiting response me. closed down task manager when reopened project later on, work had done had been lost. started editing again same thing happened. i've tried running pc tune fix faults, , have defragnmented hard drive, has not made difference , project still refuses close down when prompted.

 

i completed project on same computer , in same way worked perfectly, cannot understand wrong 1 not doing different. os windows 7, 32 bit. computer pentium 4, 3.2 ghz 2gb ram , radeon 4650 graphics card. know causing problem?

how free, clean, freshly defragmented space on c drive?

 

you're using pretty minimally powered computer run program. fine if you're editing minidv footage. if you're editing hi-def or footage besides minidv, it's hardware being overwhelmed. if system has 1 hard drive , has less 75 gigs of free space on it.
