Thread: Grub Screwed up

i installed fedora on pc on ubuntu , grub wont go farther rescue mode. (apparently grubs boot folder on ubuntu partition... see why dedicated boot partition handy.)

used vmware install fedora im out of cds. vmware setup use physical hdd primary hdd in vm. (i made sure vmware disabled access windows partitions guest couldn't access them.)
im in windows 7 @ moment , avoiding rebooting lock me out of computer have access to. tried running ubuntu livecd restore grub dont know how mount fedoras lvm partitions.

can repair grub or @ least install mbr capable of booting windows? can boot floppies , cds using vmware not sure use fix this.

fedora livecd wont mount of partitions install grub,
ubuntu livecd may work if can mount lvm partitions.

to restore mbr windows boots,

sudo apt-get install lilo
sudo lilo -m /dev/sda mbr (assuming sda name of windows disk)

don't know booting fedora. think installs grub-legacy if tell to. ought possible boot fedora grub rescue> prompt, don't have recipe.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
