Thread: Help me throw Microsoft Windows, OUT THE WINDOW!

hello,
i'm new @ os switches , coding, and, well, pretty computer related (so please slow , descriptive me.) today installed latest version of ubuntu along side default windows 7 starter edition. seems working beautifully - , i'm satisfied. satisfied, no longer want duel boot 2 systems , rather run ubuntu. if not option (though really, hope is) @ least not want 2 partitioned evenly , want (quite obviously) give ubuntu portion more ram/room etc etc. said, i'd rather remove windows in safe , easy manner, , prefer not extensive coding right off bat. grand!

hi , welcome ubuntu forums

if comfortable ubuntu , sure want wipe windows completely, here easiest/fastest ways :

1. backup important files windows/ubuntu (if any)
2. download , burn latest ubuntu iso
2. reinstall ubuntu choosing 'erase , use whole drive'

or

1. backup important files windows/ubuntu
2. boot in ubuntu
3. install 'gparted' if not there (sudo apt-get install gparted)
4. delete yor windows partition , format 'ext4'
5. resize current ubuntu partition take whole drive.

hope helps
