Thread: No sound in Ubuntu 11.04

i no sound. not little signature tune you're suppose when start ubuntu.

guess means sound card there.

tried alsamixer make sure speakers not muted.

the last thing tried adding user name /etc/group. before

my questions two: bullet proof way test sound card? i'm running random mp3 might have fault in itself.

second question is, must sound work?

use alsa-info-script provide detailed information. run command in terminal:
