Thread: Swap question (dont worry its not about size)


so installed ubuntu in hard disk "a" , because read having swap on hdd not used beneficial (makes sense after all). during installation not partition swap on hdd b installed without swap.
if partition swap in hdd b (via acronis in windows set linux swap) ubuntu automatically detect , use or need anything.

i believe you'll need create entry in fstab.

pretty simple, open fstab:

gksu gedit /etc/fstab
add:
code:
uuid=##################################### swap swap defaults 0 0
on new line @ bottom of file. replace #####(etc) uuid of swap partition, can find out running
code:
sudo blkid -c /dev/null
